Hello, my name is Sharon McHugh and following a lifetime dedicated to working as a Therapeutic Integrative Counsellor, I am passionate about helping you overcome the difficulties you face from ADHD, Anxiety and Trauma. We'll explore your past experiences and see how they are affecting your thoughts, feelings and behaviours today. This understanding is the first step in understanding your ADHD, reducing anxiety and starting to make positive changes. Together we'll work on shifting from stuck patterns to new behaviours that enhance your life and help you become who you want to be. I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy face to face in Wickford, and online covering the UK and Ireland.

Our sessions will always be led by you, this will be your space, to talk, to think and to be yourself. My aim is to support you in any way I can, to provide a safe space in an environment where you can talk openly and freely, a space that is non-judgemental, with no influences and no pressure. 

Whether you are dealing with;

ADHD, Anxiety and Trauma and the consequences of these such as substance abuse, low mood, negative and self critical thoughts or if you are trying to make sense of how your past experiences are impacting on you now, I listen closely to what you say and ask questions that help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, along with guiding you towards understanding what you need to bring peace and happiness back into your life. I know reaching out can be one of the hardest things to do as I have been there myself, but that first step really is a life changing decision.

First session

Our first session will be for us to get to know each other and for me to gain an understanding of what is going on for you. It is for you to talk about what is going on for you and how you are feeling. This allows me to not only get to know you, it also allows me to see your world through your eyes. We will also discuss how to make the best use of our time and put together a plan and agreement of how we can do our best work. Getting to know you and listening to what you bring is fundamental to my approach, as is discussing the different approaches I use including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or Solution Focused Hypnotherapyand explaining the the way I work so you have a full understanding and can make the best decision to work in a way that feels right for you.
